J.K. LONE HOSPITAL: OVER 900 NEW BORN DIE EVERY YEAR
The number of newborn deaths at the city’s largest JK Lone government hospital reached 107 in the last 35 days. When the case of the deaths of newborns was hot here, Dr. Ashok Bairwa, Head of the Department of Pediatric Drugs Department of the hospital wrote a letter to the Principal of Government Medical College, Nekota.  In this letter, the head of the department wrote that most of the hospital equipment is correct and no child has died due to a lack of resources. However, contrary to this claim, in his own letter, he also stated that 320 out of 533 of the hospital’s equipment ie 60% are defective.
This is the condition of this hospital that media people are banned here. No officer-doctor is willing to talk. It was revealed in the investigation that on 25 December, the head of the department wrote this letter on 27 December after the case of 10 children died in the hospital. He also claimed that JK Lone Hospital’s NICU is three places above SMS Medical College’s Hospital in Jaipur. In this letter on the death of children, an example is given that 7 children who died in the previous days died within 24 to 48 hours of hospitalization. “It indicates their seriousness at the time of recruitment,” it says in the letter.

MORE THAN 900 CHILDREN DIE EVERY YEAR

Point number 6 of this letter claimed that most of the equipment in the hospital is correct. While every year more than 900 children died in the hospital.
The letter reveals that the number of devices in JK Lone Hospital is 533. Of these, 320 devices are defective, while 213 are in working condition. That is, 60% of the equipment used in their treatment in the children’s unit was damaged by 27 December. Chitthi says 81 out of 111 infusion pumps in the child care unit of the hospital are defective. Only 31 are in working condition. Only 6 of the 19 ventilators are in working condition. Warmers are also just 27 operational and 44 out of a total of 71. The total number of phototherapy is 27, of which 7 are poor. The number of ventilators used during critical situations is 19. 13 ventilators are defective. Only 6 are in working condition.

CENTER’S GUIDELINE: 12 BEDS SHOULD HAVE 10 STAFF, JK LONE HAS ONLY 12 STAFF ON 24 BEDS



The reality of JK Lone Hospital, the largest in Kota division, is that according to the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, the NICU should have a staff of 10 in 12 beds. While the NICU has a staff of only 12 people on a total of 24 beds.

SHORTAGE OF SENIOR DOCTORS TOO YET CLAIMS NOT TO BE NEGLIGENT IN THE TREATMENT


A total of 12 posts of doctors are approved in the Department of Pediatric Drugs. Only 7 of these are doctors. 4 posts of pediatrician professor and assistant professor level doctors are vacant. Despite this, the letter written by the head of the department claimed that round-the-clock (24-hour) doctors are on duty in the NICU and PICU of the hospital, who regularly see serious patients. In such a situation, no care was taken. The condition of all patients was very critical.
